Indoor Plant Care

Does the term ‘houseplant’ scare you? Maybe you’ve walked through your neighborhood greenhouse a few times in anticipation of coming home with a new leafy friend, but once you get to the checkout counter, you convince yourself it’s a terrible idea…

Believe it or not, you’re not alone! Many people don’t know where to begin when it comes to indoor plants because they are scared of limiting their lifespan due to various maintenance reasons. We hope this insider’s guide to choosing and caring for indoor plants will convince you that purchasing an eye-catching, ai-purifying, lush houseplant is in fact a good idea.

Accustomed to harsh climates, snake plants tend to be a low maintenance choice. If you live in an apartment or home without many windows, they can adjust to low light while still purifying the air. Make sure to pot this plant with well-draining soil and be sure to clean the dust and dirt off the leaves periodically. Since they are used to arid climates, only water them when they are completely dry.

These plants are a beautiful focal point in any room and thrive in bright locations. While they are quite particular about their maintenance routine, they are a great plant to have in the house as they are attractive and are known to lower blood pressure. Fiddle leaf trees should be near a window, but away from direct sunlight. Distilled water should be used for feeding, if possible, but be sure to let them dry between waterings.

This exotic, attractive tree is a great introductory plant for gardeners. It is low maintenance, drought-tolerable and almost indestructible. Not only are they easy to care for, but they also get their great reputation from benefits like replenishing oxygen and removing toxins in the home. While caring for this air-purifying powerhouse, keep it out of harsh light, water it approximately once a week and don’t forget to fertilize it every month or so.
