2020. This year has a special ring to it, doesn’t it? What wedding date did you choose?  We looked at 2020 as the year where our vision for the next generation of T Villager Designs would come totally into focus because we’re hitting our stride and getting to the top of our game.

We bet many of you have shared that same vision of excitement, clarity, development of your dreams, goals and especially those of you who selected 2020 as the year you begin a new life with the person you love. You set your special wedding date, hours of planning, you have had everything together and have held amazing excitement for your new life with your new family.  We often choose the flowers that are best in season for your perfect day such as peony, dahlia, garden roses etc…

But life doesn’t always go as planned, as we all know. And how we all deal with the curves thrown at us looks different for each one of us.

Beginning in early March, life in Nashville took a sudden turn. First, our Tennessee community was rocked on its heels by the EF-3 and EF-4 tornadoes that tore through our communities with fury and reckless abandon leaving destruction in their wake. Stunned, staggering and dazed, our community did what it’s best known for. We rallied, strong and relentless because it’s what we do. We help eachother. We are strong.

None of us really knew what was coming next when COVID-19 began to engulf our world and infiltrate even what some thought was our invincible nation. But COVID-19 spares no one and we find ourselves now dealing with social distancing just when we need each other more than ever!

So why do we talk about all this? Because it’s important to know how much we need each other right now more than perhaps ever. We need to share grace, understanding, empathy, sympathy, and support to whoever needs it. We truly are in this together.

Right now we need to grieve loss, whether it’s loss of life, loss of time, loss of income, loss of property, loss of the wedding day we’ve dreamed of and prepared for, loss of community due to isolation. We must allow ourselves to grieve, be sad, be angry, be filled with heartache and wonder how we might figure all this out when most things are completely out of our control.

No one can be certain what the future will bring out of all that is happening.

There is a gift in all that is happening right now. Whatever the outcome, it will be a chance for a new beginning. New doors will open, new people will come into our lives, we’ll get to re-unite with our families and friends, and we’ll carry on.
